I'm Zhihuang Huang, a PhD student in Animal–Computer Interaction (ACI) at the School of Computing Science, University of Glasgow. I am supervised by Dr Ilyena Hirskyj-Douglas and Professor Mohamed Khamis.
My research focuses on developing animal-driven interactive technologies that give companion cats greater control over when and how they interact with their caregivers. I explore remote human–cat interaction during periods of separation, including when cats are home alone or hospitalised in veterinary settings, with the aim of supporting animal agency, human–cat relationships, and the well-being of both cats and their caregivers.
Feel free to get in touch if you're interested in Animal–Computer Interaction, multimodal interaction, potential research collaborations, or simply want to share stories or photos of your cats with me!
