This research focuses on animal-driven interactive technologies that give companion cats greater control over when and how they interact with their caregivers. It explores the use of remote interaction technologies to support human–cat interaction during periods of separation, including when cats are home alone or hospitalised in veterinary clinics. The research aims to support cat welfare, animal agency, and human–cat relationships through the design of interactive technologies.
